051782 - RAF MARHAM: The Operational History 1916 to 2019

Royal Air Force Marham has been at the forefront of RAF operations since it opened in 1916, initially as part of the Home Defence system. Most of its operational career in World War Two, the Cold War and War Against Terror, saw the squadrons conducting offensive operations from the UK or from deployed bases.
As a Tornado base since 1983, Marham has been the most consistent operator of an aircraft that has seen a longer operational use than any other RAF type. The end of service of the Tornado at Marham in 2019 opened a new chapter for the Norfolk base, as home to the F-35B Lightning.
