270191 - DH MOSQUITO BOMBERS Part 1: Single Stage Merlin Variants (Photo Archive 17)
By Ian Thirsk
Taken from the Publishers website:-
Mosquito expert Ian Thirsk was of course Head of Collections and Research at the RAFM and has also been a volunteer member of the DH Museum’s Mosquito restoration team for over forty years!
Ian’s first task was to try to work out how to separate the vast amount of material into logical volumes. The obvious way was to group them by role, but even this needed to be further divided to allow us to use most of the material that we had. As such, this first volume covers Mosquito bombers fitted with single stage Merlin engines. (From a visual point of view, that means those without the extra intake immediately under the spinner).
Includes a significant amount of close-up detail shots, which should be of great use to modellers, especially those making the larger scale versions of this classic aircraft. The Publishers think that there will be at least four volumes dedicated to the mighty Mozzie in this series!
This book contains approx 120 original wartime/pre-war photos and 6 in-depth colour profiles
Other titles in the series include Supermarine Spitfire Mk 1, Messerschmitt Bf 109 Volume One, Hawker Hurricane Mk 1, Messerschmitt Bf 109 Volume Two, Avro Lancaster Mk I/III, Supermarine Spitfire Mk V, Short Stirling Mk I/III, De Havilland Vampire, Messerschmitt Bf 109 E Volume Three, Bristol Beaufighter, Gloster Gladiator, Heinkel He 111 Units, Bristol Beaufighter Mk VIC, Mk X and XI.
